FAQ ~•~ How do I order? Choose your options then request your portrait with my convenient online or printable forms. I will invoice you after I've received your request. Or order directly from my online shop, where you'll find more price points, specials and unusual offerings. How do I send my photos? You can email them as digital attachments or by snail mail. Information will be provided when you order. How much will it cost? Each portrait can be as individual as you like and with that the price can vary. However, you can choose a basic file or a complete package, but there are SO many options beyond that to make your portrait special. You'll find some of those ideas in my online shop, but if you have your own thoughts, I can give you a personal quote once we have discussed them. I want your portrait to be personal to you, something that you will treasure for a long time. How long will it take? It varies depending on my workload. I usually post the approximate times on facebook (under my profile picture) and in my shop. Can I order your art as a gift? Absolutely! It makes a wonderful gift. Just allow plenty of time. Can you combine more than one pet into a single portrait from separate photos? Absolutely! There is an extra charge for each additional pet (see the Optional Add-ons for pricing). The trickiest part of that is getting a size relationship between the multiple subjects. I will send a preliminary sketch for you to determine if I have the sizing correct. Why would I want the art file of my portrait? With every order, no matter what your other choices, you always recieve the file! Once you have the file, the possibilities are limitless. Order it printed on a large canvas for your wall, or for on-demand one-at-a-time items like a t-shirt, totebag, pillow, ceramic mug and so much more. Visit my resource page for more fun and useful ideas with links to vendors that can rock your world with custom printing. How big can I print the art file? I've printed these files as large as 24 x 30 inches and they are beautiful. Depending on the printing process and material being printed, I think they could go even larger. Visit my resource page for suggestions. Can I cancel my order? Order cancelation requests must be made within 14 days of order date to receive a full refund. What if I ordered, but forgot to send you the photos? Please send your photos as soon as possible. If I have not received them within 3 months, there will be a $10 re-order fee. Are there any restrictions on how I can use my art file? Once you receive your file, the art is yours for any personal use. Commercial use is negotiable. Do I own the copyright to the art? I give you full, personal usage rights to the art, but no, you do not own the copyright. As the artist, I keep the copyright. This means you can not claim you created the art nor can you give others permission to use it as I have given you. And just as you, I have the right to use it for various projects. Can I buy the copyright? Yes. Price for copyright ownership is negotiated for each individual piece of art. Just ask and we'll discuss it. ----------------------------- How long have you been an artist? ...for as long as I can remember. I drew my first horse portrait when I was 5 - my dad still has it! I remember gluing macaroni around the edge of the cardboard to make a frame...I think the pasta has fallen off by now. I've also been a freelance graphic artist for over 20 years. How do you draw and paint these? Although my technique and finished drawings often look very traditional, my medium is digital - pixels instead of paint. I draw with a digital stylus pen instead of pencils and work on a digital graphics tablet instead of a paper tablet. This digital method shows each stroke I make on my computer monitor, then I save the finished art to a file. Take a look at this slideshow for a visual explaination. What inspires you? Nature and animals. The variety of colors, textures and features of each animal is very exiting and intriguing. Animal behavior has always fascinated me and after over 130 foster cats, I say without a doubt, no two are alike. |
