Great gift for the flower lover!
The Story
I painted these beautiful lavender Hydrangeas en plein air on a very hot summer day at my local Hoerr Nursery. I love painting outdoors and this time I was with my plein air group. We have a great time when we get together, but sometimes we don't get a lot of work done. Fortunately this time I did.
Technique
This is a wet in wet watercolor technique. En plein air this causes time lost waiting for layers to dry. My solution is to have 2 paintings or a painting and a drawing all going at the same time so can alternate between them while the paint is drying.
Additional Notes
FRAME DETAILS: Ready to Hang
Beautiful white oval Victorian style, slightly distressed frame. 10" x 12" x 1.5" It's ready to hang on any wall or place on an ornate display easel on a shelf, mantel or table. I've sealed the painting with multiple layers of a special archival wax to eliminate the need for glass in this frame.
