Cryptid - Thunderbird

The Story

Find the FULL story in one of the images above.

The Thunderbird, with it’s 20-foot plus wingspan, has been spotted in Illinois near Shawnee National Forest and other areas of Illinois. Linked to Native American tales, it is believed to be a surviving ancient species or a supernatural entity. Despite no solid proof, the Thunderbird is a mystery in Illinois folklore, representing the unknown.

Technique

Series: Painted Pages – Cryptids
I research, plan how I will present the topic in writing, then print the page to paint directly over the text using watercolor and gouache. While nature remains my primary focus, this artistic style can be applied to various subjects such as my series of Cryptids.
