The Story

My cherished memories of daffodils...

I’ve seen a lot of daffodils in my life, but none quite like the ones from my childhood school bus route. Every spring, our neighbors’ hillside would burst into bloom and somehow, perfectly, spell out “SPRING.”

It felt a little like nature was showing off.

Those flowers are long gone now, but every time I head back to my hometown, I can’t help but look for them… just in case.

Technique

This was a bit of an experiment using acrylic ink. I even included metallic gold accents and lettering. I also implemented reverse stenciling to help create a texture in the background. Using a stencil and soft cloth with just a bit of alcohol, I delicately removed some of the color.

Additional Notes

Framed: Glossy black with a metallic gold edge canvas floater frame
